Josefina grew up in Cantel Quetzaltenango with seven siblings. She is the fourth child in the family and first to continue into her university studies. She has always dreamed of being a community doctor because of the lack of access to medicine in her community. She is nineteen years old and has began her medical degree at the Universidad Mesoamericana in Quetzaltenango. (Meet more scholars...)
