24-year-old Pascual is the oldest of seven siblings in Pasac, Sololá.  His mother has never received any formal education and his father was not able to study past the 6th grade.  Although his parents barely earned enough to raise their children, they insisted that their children go to school.  Accordingly, Pascual worked in the fields every morning and studied in the afternoons during his junior high and high school studies.  Pascual currently works as an elementary school teacher which allows him to help pay for his younger siblings´ junior high and high school education.  He is now studying education at the University Galileo to become a high school teacher.
